Any one of our UCI students could become the next person to change the world. Our newly evolved Campuswide Honors Collegium is designed to empower elite students. The Campuswide Honors Collegium challenges these outstanding students to actively apply their knowledge and helps them develop leadership and career readiness skills. Your support will help to make the Campuswide Honors Collegium a permanent fixture at UCI through the creation of an endowment specifically focused on supporting honors students and the growth of the Collegium.
UCI, the recognized leader in upward social mobility, currently serves only about 10 percent of the undergraduate population through Student Success Initiatives whose sole purpose is to help students succeed in their studies and prepare them for success after graduation. By providing programs specifically designed for our low-income, first-generation and underrepresented students, we have made it our priority to ensure that all UCI undergraduates have a chance to succeed and thrive. Your gift will support students that need it the most and allow us to expand to meet the high demand for our services.
All Anteaters, from curious beginners, innovators with promising ideas and current business owners can access UCI’s entrepreneurial network, access business plan guidance and seed funding support from UCI’s ANTrepreneur Center. Higher level mentoring and developing community partnerships will help nurture these budding entrepreneurs. Your gift will secure the longevity of this popular training ground.
This remarkable program allows over 2,000 students to work with faculty on unique research projects, building teamwork, project management and accountability skills. With more students eager to participate with every passing year, our ability to support undergraduate research is declining. With your help, we can meet student interest, expand project funding and create a new corporate partnership structure so students can network within the business community.
We propose an institute to transform the teaching culture of higher education by using the latest evidence-based instructional practices. Cultivating a culture such as this will start by reimagining 15 core courses that touch 97 percent of freshmen by their second quarter. These courses will feature more interactive learning and knowledge application, making sure that the critical goals of increased knowledge retention, communication, teamwork and critical thinking skills are nurtured and applied. This combination of mentoring and course redesign will benefit thousands of current and future students. Join us as we bring education into the 21st Century.
