UCI Health is planning to build a state-of-the-art medical complex on the UCI campus — our version of a healthcare environment for the future. The planned UCI Health Medical Complex in Irvine will house a teaching hospital and an advanced medical outpatient facility, both dedicated to specialty services, including comprehensive care for cancer, neurosciences, orthopedics, and advanced medical and surgical procedures. In addition, the medical complex will be supported by an emergency department and house the UCI Center for Child Health. Patients will find the exceptional treatments, clinical trials and integrative, whole person therapies they expect from Orange County’s only academic health system.

In a hospital designed for the 21st century, patients will experience our unique fusion of technological innovation, groundbreaking treatments and integrative, compassionate care. To enhance the patient experience, please consider investing in our specialty services areas: cancer, neurosciences, orthopedics, and advanced medical and surgical procedures.
The new multiservice facility plans to build on the strengths of the UCI Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center, a National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated comprehensive cancer center. The specialty hospital will provide emergency services for our cancer patients who develop urgent problems and will be the site of care for patients who require hospitalization for complex therapy and other care. The hospital will also be the ultimate destination for UCI Health’s new blood and bone marrow transplantation program, and the site for administration of cellular and immune therapies for cancer. With your support, patients will benefit from internationally known experts in the many different forms of cancer, from true multidisciplinary cancer care, and from access to clinical trials of the latest drugs, devices and interventions.
To meet the needs of both an aging population and patients with non-age-related neurological disorders, the new facility will encompass the specialties of neurology, neurosurgery, brain imaging, and physical medicine and rehabilitation, led by our renowned physicians. Clinicians will train residents and fellows, conduct research for all neurological diseases and offer clinical trials and experimental therapies in medicine and surgery available nowhere else in the region. Your gift will propel us forward on clinical, research and educational fronts.
The orthopedic program will support both surgical and procedural interventions, primarily for joint replacements and revisions. The procedural spaces for the spine will include a range of specialty services including but not limited to injections, fusions and pain management procedures. Your gift will empower our accomplished teams to advance these vital services.
Through your generosity, patients will receive premium outpatient care in a modern facility conveniently located near the new hospital to promote efficiency and improve outcomes. The outpatient facility will provide a beautiful and peaceful location for cancer patients to be seen by their physicians or other healthcare providers, with proximity to laboratory and imaging services, a spacious chemotherapy/infusion suite and a state-of-the art radiation therapy center. You will have opportunities to support outpatient treatment centers for cancer, neurosciences and other specialty areas.
